Final conference
on “Serbia and Kosovo: Intercultural
Icebreakers” program for 2015

The closing conference on the
results of the program “Serbia and
Kosovo: Intercultural Icebreakers”
for a year 2015 was held on December
18, 2015 in the EU Info Centre in
Pristina. The conference is
organized by the Liberal Democratic
Centre from Pristina. The pogram is
realized with the assistance from
the European Union under the Support
to Civil Society Facility 2013
Program. The
Helsinki Committee for Human Rights
in Serbia and the Liberal Democratic
Centre from Pristina have launched
the project “Serbia and Kosovo:
Intercultural Icebreakers” in 2015.
The project aims at renewing old
ties and creating new ones among
young people, academic and artistic
circles, media outlets and civil
society organizations from Belgrade
and Pristina, thus contributing to
dialogue, reconciliation and
normalization between the two
countries. Project
coordinator from Pristina Birol
Urcan and Granit Gashi from Liberal
Democratic Centre presented all of
the program activities to
journalists and guests at the
conference. They gave an overview of
the main program results and future
plans. It was
concluded that the project managed
to present the active artistic
scenes, which were reveled through
musical performances, exhibitions,
movie projections and debates on
different topics such as the
position of women in both societies,
the development of both societies
before, during and after the
Yugoslav state, and similar. Main
activities were conducted through
the one month lasting festivals “A
Month of Pristina in Belgrade” and
“A Month of Belgrade in Pristina”.
