Participants of
the project "Serbia and Kosovo:
Intercultural Icebreakers" gathered
at the second seminar, which was
entirely dedicated to their ideas
for works of art to be presented at
the exhibition. Together with the
team and the participants, Luka
Knežević Strika, a multimedia artist
from Belgrade who has collaborated
with the Kosovo cultural scene on a
number of occasions, went to the
seminar.
Through his
mentorship, Luka Knežević Strika
helped artists to better define
their concepts and be confident in
the message they send to the public
and their audience through their
works. The five-day process has been
challenging, given a lot of
exhaustive discussion and various
suggestions. All participants had
time for themselves to redefine
their work, but also time with the
group to discuss different concepts.
During the seminar, the participants
later worked on writing accompanying
texts with their papers. The group
helped each other to together
present their work in the best
possible way.
One of the artists
began to work out her idea on the
spot, so she asked others to
participate in her final work
through drawings on impressions she
made during her visit to Kosovo. It
was fun for everyone to take part in
it, regardless of the type of art
involved in drawing and painting
skills.
The last day of
the seminar was set aside for the
common concept of the whole
exhibition and the division of
duties and the setting of deadlines
for the coming period. The artists
agreed to base the concept of the
exhibition around one of the
proposed works by artist Pajtim
Paša, which seemed to them to be an
illustrative representation of their
whole idea.
Upon their return
to Belgrade, the group visited a
gallery space where an exhibition
was planned to make a spatial plan
for the exhibition that fit the
concept they had designed.
