The fifth Steering Committee Meeting of the Consortium of Partners
of the international project HOPE (Holistic Radicalisation
Prevention Initiative) was held on March 22 and 23, 2023 in
Belgrade, organised by the Helsinki Committee for Human Rights in
Serbia (HCHRS).
The HOPE project entered its third, final year of implementation,
which was the occasion for representatives of 9 partner
organizations from 8 countries (Portugal, Norway, Spain, Italy,
Slovenia, Bulgaria, Romania and Serbia) to meet and summarise the
activities so far. More important, the meeting was an opportunity
for the partners to discuss the work packages and activities that
are ongoing, or whose implementation will soon begin.
The HOPE project consists of 7 work packages with a total of 96
activities and 12 outputs, including new, innovative and
multidisciplinary approaches to teaching and learning about the
phenomenon of radicalisation and extremism.
For guests from partner organisations (representatives of prison and
probation services, criminology and penology universities and
international agencies dealing with terrorism, radicalisation and
extremism), HCHRS, with the support of the Administration for the
Execution of Criminal Sanctions, organised a visit to the
Penitentiary in Belgrade (Nova Skela).
